Q - What is the booster club? What is its purpose?
A – The booster club is a non-profit organization that works to benefit the Competitive Edge competitive gymnasts. The parents of all members must join the booster club (for a one-time fee of $40) when they join the team.
Q – What things does the booster club pay for?
A – The booster club pays for a variety of items on behalf of the team gymnasts, including meet fees and coaches fees. The booster club provides support and encouragement for the team gymnasts through items such as parties, Christmas gifts, end of the year gifts, etc.
Q – What is the difference between the general fund and the gymnast’s individual accounts? Why do I have to have money in both?
A – The general fund pays for benefits that go to all girls such as parties, gymnast/coach gifts, special snacks, etc. This money is raised through specific fundraising activities. Member dues also go into this fund.
Coaches fees are also paid collaboratively. Team coaches are paid a session rate for every meet session, as well as travel and lodging costs.
Individual accounts pay for individual gymnast costs, including meet fees, competition leotards, gym bags, USAG fees, etc.
Q – Why does the booster club do fundraising?
A – The booster club does fundraising to offset costs that team parents need to pay. Out-of-pocket expenses can quickly add up without the assistance of fundraising.
Q – Am I required to participate in the fundraising?
A – It is strongly encouraged for all families to participate. However, you are not required to participate in every fundraising opportunity.
Q – Where does Fundraising money go?
A – The booster club decides prior to any fundraising events what the money will go toward, all funds raised benefit each member of the club regardless of participation.
Q – If I am unable to fundraise can I make a donation to the club?
A – Yes, if you are unable to fundraise but would like to make a donation it will go to support that specific need that money is being raised for and all members will benefit.
