The Competitive Edge Booster Club is very
proud of how hard all of our gymnast have been working and are very excited
about the upcoming competitive season. This information packet is provided to
each member as an informative reference to the many questions and concerns that
come up though out the year. Important
team notices are sent via email; please make sure we have your correct
information on file. Frequently, we will be directing you to our blog, http://cebooster.blogspot.com/ ,
where you will need to subscribe to receive important information pertaining to
competition, fees, events, meetings etc…..
Competitive fees are separate from your
monthly tuition payments, the Competitive
Edge Booster Club is a Separate Entity from the gym, which require One-time
Membership fee $40 per gymnast and Renewal fee $5 per gymnast annually. (Nonrefundable)
How
do I as a parent stay informed?
Competitive gymnast parents are a part of
the booster club. Decisions are decided collaboratively in meetings by voting. Board
members are also charged with making specific decisions in accordance with the
booster club bylaws.
The booster club board members are the
best source of information and are available to answer questions at monthly
membership meetings held the 2nd Thursday of each month 6:30pm at the gym.
You may also email Club Secretary at
cebooster@gmail.com with any questions you may have.
The Competitive Edge Booster Club is a
non-profit organization that works to benefit the Competitive Edge Gymnastics
competitive gymnasts. The booster club pays for a variety of items on behalf of
the competitive gymnasts, including meet fees and coaches fees. The booster
club provides support and encouragement for the competitive gymnasts through
items such as parties, special events and fundraising opportunity. The general fund pays for benefits that go
toward all competitive gymnasts. This money is raised through specific
fundraising activities, member dues, donations and special assessments.
Individual accounts pay for individual
gymnast costs, including meet fees and all expenses that each gymnast may have
incurred.
Competitive
Edge Booster Club Meet Registration Policy:
The Meet schedule is set by CE Gym Owner.
Once the Meet Schedule is posted (normally in Early Fall) there is a fourteen
calendar day period with a “Charge Date” posted for Gymnast to withdraw from a
specific meet that may be a conflict, (Gym Owner must approve any withdraw from
a meet ) otherwise each gymnast is registered by Meet Coordinator for the
selected meets that each gymnast qualifies for and individual accounts are
charged accordingly.
Please note that all meets on the
calendar usually have both a Saturday and Sunday date listed (in some cases a
Friday date too). Team entries fees (made with a club check) are due in advance
prior to the competition date. This deadline varies based on the meet host and
due to the popularity of some meets they “fill up”, sometimes 4 or 5 months in
advance. Once the meet director receives our check and (we must send one club
check, since meet hosts do not accept individual personal checks) gymnasts are
then assigned their competition days and times. We are completely at the mercy
of the meet host and they can assign any level, to any day or time slot. Usually
7-10 days prior to competition we will be notified what day CE will be
competing.
NOTE:
ALL Competitive Edge Gymnastics athletes
will be entered in ALL the listed meets for their level. Each competitive season
has a “Charge Date,” fourteen calendar days after meet schedule is posted by
Meet Coordinator. If you are unable to participate in one of the competitions
you must contact our Meet Coordinator before the “Charge Date” to avoid billing
to your account. Prior to each meet deadline, CE Booster Club will send in the
official club entry & club check – from that point on it is “out of our
hands” and we cannot get a refund. Also keep in mind Coaches fees are split
evenly and charged to all competitive gymnast accounts regardless of the number
of meets attended. If a gymnast withdraws from the program without completing a
full season registration and fees still apply and will be billed accordingly.
The
Difference between Tuition and Competition Fees
Please be aware of the important
distinction between tuition and competition fees/expenses. Estimated
Competition Fees are listed on Seasonal Calendar.
Monthly tuition is paid to Competitive
Edge Gymnastics LLC and this revenue is used to pay expenses associated with
your gymnast’s daily training.
Competition fees/expenses are paid to
Competitive Edge Booster Club and used to pay expenses associated with
competing (meet entry fees, coaches’ traveling expenses, etc.). Competition
fees are divided into two categories, coaches’ fees & entry fees.
Coaches
Fees:
The coaches’ fees are divided evenly and
based upon the projected coaching costs associated with each competition. These
fees cover coaches’ expenses such as travel, food, lodging, coaching
compensation, and all expense that apply and are approved with submission of
the proper form and receipts. Coaches’ fees are not pro-rated or refunded for
missed competitions.
Entry
Fees:
Entry fees for competitions vary per
event. The level of competition, the location and the nature of the competition
(Entry fees are set by meet hosts, not by CE Booster Club.) All entry fees are
collected by our Treasure and remitted as a “lump sum” to the competition host in advance to ensure that our team secures a
space in the meet. Entry fees are not pro-rated or refunded for missed
competitions.
All competition expenses incurred by a
gymnast are a gymnast’s/parent’s responsibility. To pay these expenses as they occur, we establish
for each gymnast an itemized account. As
expenses occur, we pay them from this account.
This minimizes the need and hassle of “nickel and diming” the parents
every time a meet is scheduled. Meet expenses must be paid months in advance.
You will receive a monthly statement of your gymnast account activity (check
gymnast folder).
All gymnast and parents are representing
Competitive Edge Booster Club. Your actions and words reflect on all
Competitive Edge Stakeholders (This includes in a hotel or restaurant during a
travel meet).
Fundraising
The booster club does fundraising to
offset costs such as coaches’ fees and meet registration fees. Out-of-pocket
expenses can quickly add up without the assistance of fundraising making it
difficult for most gymnasts to compete in the sport.
It is strongly encouraged for all
families to participate. Top Sellers and Participants will be acknowledged.
The booster club decides prior to any
fundraising events what the money will go toward, all funds raised benefit each
member of the club regardless of participation. If you are unable to fundraise
but would like to make a donation it will go to support that specific need that
money is being raised for and all members will benefit.
Additional Fundraiser ideas may be presented
at General Membership meetings along with a committee of 5 members willing to
coordinate, plan and implement the fundraiser. The ideas will then be put on
the next meetings New Business for presentation and vote.
